Elizabeth Allen's lifelong interest in the
arts has culminated in a passion for acrylic paint on canvas.
The first time she tried it, she knew this was the medium
for her and she has never looked back.
Inspired by artists as diverse as Turner
and Rothko, Elizabeth applies paint in layers which are separated
by thin coats of acrylic medium to create depth and luminosity.
Paint is poured, dripped, splattered, applied with brush or
rag - "anything is possible," Elizabeth says, "and
that is what makes painting so exciting."
"If I am able to achieve a sense of
light and motion in a painting, I consider it to be a successful
piece, and most often these are the pieces that find their
way into the hearts and homes of others."
Originally from Alberta, Elizabeth now lives
and paints on the west coast of British Columbia where the
beauty of nature is a constant inspiration. Her work can be
found in international collections. For more information, please see the contact
